ABOUT RITA’S COMMUNITY PANTRY

Who we are

Rita’s Community Pantry is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit food bank founded by Melanie Flowers to fight food insecurity in Lancaster, Palmdale, and the greater Antelope Valley region of Southern California.

WWe provide free groceries, fresh produce, and emergency food assistance to families, seniors, and individuals facing hunger. Our community pantry operates with dignity and respect, ensuring every neighbor has access to nutritious food without barriers.

Through partnerships with local organizations and dedicated volunteers, we’re building a stronger, healthier Antelope Valley—one meal at a time..

Our approach

Our Mission
Ensuring access to healthy food and supportive services for all Antelope Valley residents.

Rita’s Community Pantry believes food access is a human right and the foundation for health, economic stability, and community connection. We provide free food distribution, holiday meal programs, and emergency assistance while connecting community members to resources that foster long-term stability and opportunity.

Our Vision
A hunger-free Antelope Valley where every family thrives.

We envision a future where every household in Lancaster, Palmdale, and surrounding communities has consistent access to nutritious food and the support systems needed to build stable, healthy lives through sustainable partnerships and community-driven solutions.
